NNA - The ballot boxes for the third phase of the municipal and mayoral elections in the Governorates of Beirut, Bekaa and Baalbek Hermel have closed.

Voting took place in a calm atmosphere, with the exception of some complaints about bribery that did not affect the normal course of the electoral process.

This long voting day was marked by low voting turnout in Beirut.

Polls closed at 7 p.m. in the Beirut’s Saifi and Rmeil districts, with voter turnout ranging between 14 and 16 percent. The electoral process was marked by proper organization and smooth security.

As for the polling stations in Zuqaq al-Blat, al-Bashoura, and al-Musaitbeh, the electoral process proceeded completely calmly, with no significant security incidents recorded.

In Ras Beirut and Dar El Mreisseh, voter turnout exceeded 20% half an hour before polling stations closed, similar to that seen in the 2016 elections. There was a significant voter turnout, which contributed to a higher voter turnout rate exceeding 40% in some polling stations, while it had not exceeded 12% during the pre-noon hours. No dispute has been recorded.

Election day in the Port and Madawar areas took place calmly, with no security incidents or tensions reported. Low voter turnout was witnessed in these areas.

Polling stations in Baalbek and the district's villages closed at 7:00 p.m. The electoral process will continue until all voters present inside the polling stations, cast their ballots. After that, the vote count process will begin.

In Hermel district and the city, the polling stations were closed, with no administrative or security complaints recorded.

Polls closed in Rashaya and West Bekaa at 7:00 p.m. today, following an election day marked by both intense and smooth voting. Voters demonstrated a sense of responsibility, which translated into a democratic and decent election.
