NNA - The office of Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Hajjar, on Monday issued a statement denying rumors circulating about the alleged theft of a ballot box in Akkar during the recent municipal elections.

“Clarifying what has been reported regarding the theft of a ballot box in Akkar, Minister Hajjar affirms that all ballot boxes from the North Lebanon and Akkar governorates were securely delivered, under the supervision of the Internal Security Forces, to the respective registration committees after being counted,” the statement read.

“All circulating claims are completely unfounded and far from the truth,” the ministry emphasized.
