NNA - A photo circulating on social media last Saturday, purportedly showing a man named Ali Al-Ali from Akkar, released after 39 years of detention in Hama Central Prison, has been debunked. 

The Fact Check Lebanon team contacted Ali Al-Ali's family, who confirmed that his brother, Amer Al-Ali, traveled to Syria to investigate.

After speaking with the man in question, Amer confirmed he was not the missing Akkari but a Syrian detainee.
