NNA - Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS) and Head of Secretary-General’s office, Ambassador Hussam Zaki, arrived in Beirut on Friday afternoon with an accompanying delegation to follow up on the logistical procedures leading to the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which will be hosted in Beirut on the 19th and 20th of January.

At the airport, Zaki sufficed by saying, “The summit is on schedule."

As for the inter-Lebanese wrangling concerning the summit, Zaki said: "The internal political problems in Lebanon have nothing to do with the Arab League. We are here to make arrangements and coordinate with the Lebanese authorities for the summit’s convening, and the summit will be held as scheduled, God willing," Zaki said.
