Jreissati, Brand protection Group delegation discuss means to protect intellectual property

NNA - Caretaker Minister of Justice, Salim Jressati, met this Friday with Chairman and members of the Brand Protection Group in Lebanon (BPG Lebanon) who briefed him on the objectives of the Group and its most important achievements in the field of intellectual property and consumer protection, by signing a number of memorandums and agreements with State departments so as to protect intellectual property.

Minister Jreissati tackled the Ministry's developments in the field of intellectual property, focusing on the training of judges in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the intention to establish a court specializing in intellectual property, hoping to cooperate with BPG on studying a bill to be submitted to the next government to penalize intellectual property breaches and regard them as economic crimes.
