NNA - Army and security won't slacken in carrying out tasks, caretaker minister of the Interior Marwan Charbel announced upon wrapping up a state visit to the French capital today.



Charbel who met with French counterpart Manuel Walls, senior French government officials and accredited Lebanese diplomats at Pavilion Dauphine, saluted all martyrs of independence who gave their lives in order to safeguard civil peace, liberty and democracy.



Awaiting the moment of taking full control such that Independence Day assumes its real meaning and dimension, we shall remain steadfast and on full alert he vowed.



Next year would be a time of reckoning with Lebanon overcoming all difficulties or misgivings thanks to president Sleiman's wisdom and awareness of the rest of leaders, Charbel concluded.
