NNA - Former Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, represented by MP Bahiya Hariri, on Thursday hosted a lunch banquet at BIEL upon the 70th anniversary of Lebanon's Independence and in honor of the Lebanese private sector.



The event was attended by a representative of Kataeb leader Amine Gemayel, MP Fouad Siniora, a representative of Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, caretaker Minister of Information Walid Daouk, EU Ambassador to Lebanon Angelina Eichhorst, lawmakers, and a panel of dignitaries.



"We meet today as grief and rage prevail over Lebanon. We meet today to confirm that we are standing in the face of troublemakers who tamper with Lebanon's security and stability," MP Bahiya Hariri said in her word.


"We meet to confirm that our unity is our weapon to face whoever seeks to harm Lebanon and the Lebanese," she added, stressing that the sacrifices of the Lebanese shall not go to waste.


Hariri did not fail to laud the President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, for his sense of responsibility and keenness on "what's left of Lebanon's sovereignty and independence."


"We wanted to mark this national occasion to confirm that Lebanon is our first and last choice," she concluded.
