NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, condemned the blast that took place Tuesday morning in Jnah next to the Iranian Embassy, killing a number of individuals and wounding others, describing it as "a cowardly terrorist act".
"The aim of the blast is to stir-up the situation in Lebanon and use the Lebanese arena to convey messages," Mikati confirmed.
The Prime Minister called on the Lebanese to remain calm and exercise self restraints at this critical situation.
"We have asked the security apparatuses to speed up the investigations to uncover and arrest the perpetrators," Mikati asserted.
Mikati, once informed about this terrorist explosion, held a series of contacts with the leaders of the security apparatuses and called on the Emergency Committee at the Grand Serail for an immediate meeting to cope with the repercussions of the explosion.
