NNA - Russian president Vladimir Putin, has been in touch with Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad over developments against backdrop to the present political juncture, sources close to the Kremlin disclosed today.
Discussions focused on fresh Moscow initiative regarding preliminary preparations to Geneva 2 peace conference and the dismantling of Assad's chemical arsenal. Putin voiced deep concern over deteriorating humanitarian condition in and around Syria and stressed need for protecting religious minorities, same sources close to the Kremlin concluded.
