NNA - Future Bloc MP, Jean Ogassapian, told Voice of Lebanon radio Thursday that he would never join a cabinet with Hezbollah which grants it political cover for fighting in Syria.
Amazed at latest stance by Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, the MP noted a shift in rhetoric regarding the United States, from past demonizing of the American administration to a more lenient position following a warming up of Iranian policies towards the US.
"This goes to prove that political stances which depend on the exterior are meant to be used as leverage inside Lebanon. So we say let's go back to Baabda Declaration, as we place priority to Hezbollah's withdrawal form Syria, a thing which has put Lebanon in a confrontation with the Arab world," he said.
Ogassapian said in no uncertain terms that Lebanon's involvement in the Syrian crisis posed a threat to civil peace domestically.
