NNA - Caretaker Minister of Interior, Marwan Charbel, stressed the need to carry out the security plan in Tripoli as soon as possible to control the situation in the city, condemning the killing of Sheikh Saad Eddine Ghieh yesterday.
Charbel rejected "the policy of caving to assassinations to resolve political disagreements", confirming that the security apparatuses are pursuing the perpetrator and seek to disclose the circumstances and background of the crime.
The Minister confirmed that Tripoli security plan was ready and would be supported by logistic preparations to carry it out.
Commenting on Ali Eid's issue, Charbel called to allow judiciary authorities to perform their duties and take the appropriate measures.
Talking about the decision of putting the construction violations issue under the responsibility of the municipalities, the Minister confirmed that the decision has not been effective yet, expressing sorrow over the rejection of the municipalities of performing their duties.
Charbel pointed out that the responsibility would be held in parallel between the security forces and the municipalities' heads that would shoulder the responsibility of any construction violation and would present in front of the Disciplinary Council.
