NNA - Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Brigadier Marwan Charbel, responded Saturday to Arab Democratic Party Secretary General, Refaat Eid's recent statement, considering that allowing the bloodshed of others denotes a "takfiri" criminal language punishable by law.
In a response statement issued by his media bureau following Eid's press conference, it stressed that the Information Branch, with its head and officers, report to the Internal Security Forces associated with the Interior and Municipalities Ministry. It added that the Branch is carrying out its role at the national level through the implementation of applicable laws. "It does not operate under any circumstances according to whims and sectarian or partisan orientations," the statement indicated.
Furthermore, it strongly condemned such "degrading verbal utterances, reflecting a hostile, irresponsible spirit, which renders civil peace in the country vulnerable to threatening dangers and mutual vengeance."
