Future: For neutral government defusing tension

NNA - "Future" Bloc called for the formation of a neutral government that heeds attention to pressing daily living conditions and security situation, in addition to mitigating existing tension in the country and anchoring state authority.

"Future" Bloc's fresh stance came in the wake of its regular, weekly meeting on Tuesday afternoon at "Beit al-Wasat," presided over by Bloc Head, Fouad Siniora.

The Bloc tackled the overall developments on the local and regional arena.

Siniora briefed the Bloc on the outcome of his meetings with former Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, in Paris.

The Bloc considered that the prime predicament in the country lies in Hezbollah's lack of respect for the provisions of the Constitution and the Charter of the Lebanese coexistence, in addition to its denial of Lebanon's best interests and the will of the majority of the Lebanese people- through its exclusive decision to participate in the existing fighting in Syria.

"The door to political breakthroughs begins with returning to the rules of national consensus, namely commitment to Baabda Declaration--- which has been unanimously approved by all interlocutors, including Hezbollah's representative," the Bloc said in a statement- read out by Deputy Bassem Shab in the wake of the meeting.

On the prevailing security situation in the northern city of Tripoli, the Bloc underlined the need to bring to justice those who concocted, executed and partook in Tripoli's twin blasts.

The Bloc also deplored the recent assault on Jabal Mohsen's workers, saying "such a crime is categorically rejected and considered as alien to the morals, values and principles of the city of Tripoli and Tripolitans."
