NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi on Tuesday inaugurated the two-day Catholic schools' 25th conference, at Saint Elias High School for Antonine Sisters, Ghazir.
In his word, Rahi maintained that school in general, and the Catholic one in particular, aims to teach the sound national principles and values, away from any ideology or political influence.
"The Catholic school that commits to such education is a pressing need for Lebanon," he said.
"However, the political forces have anchored a new sectarian party system to ensure their persistence in power," he stressed.
"This is where the current political crisis lies, that is the failure to form the government," he added.
"Educating the generations is the solution to these crises; and it is feasible through the Catholic school in particular, which requires to liberate this school so that its doors remain open to those wishing to enroll their children in it," he concluded.
