Touching on news that has recently surfaced vis-a-vis the revamping and expansion process at Beirut airport, which is currently in its final stage, the Minister noted that said preparations were expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
"I offer my sincerest apologies to travelers for the airport congestion, but I know I am not responsible for this crisis. I have always sounded the alarm on the situation that we have reached. The airport requires $100 million, but the Council of Ministers has approved to only $18 million," Fenianos said.
"I am willing to face the judiciary concerning Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport's issue. I will hand the Financial Prosecutor the Justice Minister's letter, which I fully approve of. I have also refused to sign the consent agreement with any company," he added.
