ISF thwarts cocaine smuggling attempt at Beirut airport, three arrested

NNA - As a result of an intensive follow-up by the Internal Security Forces' Central Drug Enforcement Office in cooperation with Embassies and Public Institutions' Security Unit and Beirut Airport's Customs authority, airport police foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 17 kilograms of cocaine into the country, a communiqué by ISF Directorate General said on Wednesday.


Three suspects were arrested, with investigations underway with the concerned judiciary to arrest any other culprits involved in the drug-smuggling ring, communiqué concluded.
