NNA - Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Ghassan Hasbani, on Tuesday chaired the first meeting for the Health Policy Support Observatory (PSO), launched last April thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American University of Beirut.
"The healthcare system in Lebanon ranks high compared to the world systems in terms of access to quality services and national health indicators, despite the financial setbacks and the political and security crises," Hasbani said.
"Our country is among few to have achieved health-related Millennium Development Goals," he added.
"The PSO is key so that the scientific policies remain under an international supervision, which allows further progress and the preservation of healthcare stability," he stressed.
"It is important that the healthcare sector operates as per relevant unpoliticized policies," he concluded.
