NNA - President Michel Sleiman tackled at the presidential palace in Baabda, on Friday, with the international envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, the atmosphere of contacts and consultations he held in his recent tour aimed to find a solution to the Syrian crisis.
Sleiman later met with a delegation of Tripoli's top politicians among them caretaker Ministers Mohammad Safadi and Ahmad Karami as well as MPs Badr Wannous, Robert Fadel and Samer Saadeh, with talks touching on the field developments in Tripoli.
The delegation called for sterner action by the Army and the security forces in pursuing the violators and abusers, to whatever party they belonged.
President Sleiman later met former MP Hassan Yaaqub, with talks touching on general affairs.
The President of the Republic was briefed by the General Security Chief, Major General Abbas Ibrahim on the security situation at the border crossings in addition to ongoing communications to release the two abducted Bishops.
President Sleiman finally met Lebanon's Ambassador to Spain, Charbel Aoun, with whom he discussed bilateral relations in various fields.
