NNA - Luxembourg foreign minister Jean Asselborn has summoned the Israeli ambassador over "unacceptable violence" in the Gaza Strip.
Some 60 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers and scores injured in clashes at the border since Monday.
In a statement, the Luxembourg foreign ministry said it strongly condemned the "disproportionate use of force".
"Luxembourg strongly condemns the disproportionate use of force against civilians and calls for an independent international investigation," the ministry said.
"Everything must be done to prevent further acts of violence."
The ministry said Asselborn joined international calls for calm and restraint on the ground. -- Luxembourg Times
