Protocol twining French and Lebanese Courts of Appeal signed today


NNA - A protocol twining the French and Lebanese Courts of Appeal has been signed by Judges Jean Fahd of Lebanon and Vincent Lamenda of France during a special ceremony in the French capital Paris today.



According to the Lebanese Supreme Judicial Council, the purpose of the Twining Protocol signed by both Courts of Appeal, strives to exchange judicial expertise in addition to organizing fora, symposia and holding legal interpretive sessions.



Judge Fahd who highly appreciated the French legal system thanked French counterparts for contributing to boosting our national judicial System in the hope of assisting us in standing up to serious challenges ahead.



Judge Lamenda for his part welcomed his Lebanese counterpart and highly appraised long-standing special relations binding both Courts. He likened the Twining Protocol to a blossoming tree who branches would yield abundant fruits soon. Lamenda, placed all expertise available to the French Court of Appeal under the disposal of its Lebanese counterpart.



Judge Fahd partook already in sessions held by the French Judicial Supreme Council under the rubric" Judicial Councils' Role in Separation between Branches of State Powers". The meeting marked the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the French Supreme Judicial Council.
