NNA - The Lebanese diplomat Dr. Nawaf Salam on Tuesday was elected as a judge to the International Court of Justice ((ICJ) for a nine-year term, Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement.
The appointment ceremony was held at the ICJ Great Hall in The Hague in the presence of ICJ President, members and scores of officials.
The first President of the Court of Cassation, Judge Jean Fahed, represented the Supreme Judicial Council and the Minister of Justice at the ceremony.
It is worth mentioning that the Lebanese Judge Fouad Ammoud assumed said post between 1964 and 1976.
