NNA - Outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday chaired a meeting at the Grand Serail to follow up on the situation in Roumiyeh prison.
The meeting was held in presence of caretaker Justice Minister Shakib Qortawi and other judicial concerned figures.
Conferees tackled the stages of the administrative and judicial investigations on Roumiyeh prison works.
"Mikati called on the General Prosecution of Appeal and Finance to pursue investigations in that respect," conferees said.
Following the meeting, Qortbawi said the rehabilitation of Roumiyeh prison is being handled by both Caretaker State Minister Marwan Kheireddine and the Deputy Premier.
As for the judicial part, Qortbawi made clear that judiciary will be fulfilling its role without outside interference.
Caretaker Justice Minister also affirmed that this dossier will not be closed before the judiciary adopts adequate measures and investigations wind up.
Separately, Mikati convened today with Norway Ambassador to Lebanon, Sfein Asse, over the countries' bilateral ties.
The High Relief Committee (HCR) head, Ibrahim Bahsir, visited Mikati today and handed him with a report on the results of the Committee's mission in Indonesia.
Mikati was also briefed on the delay to hand over the bodies of the victims of the Indonesian boat, whereby Bashir told him that the Indonesian Health Ministry was relying on scientific mechanisms to inspect bodies via DNA tests, which could take around two months.
