NNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani does not intend to head to Mecca for pilgrimage this year due to the very heavy load of work, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister said Tuesday.



"Amid the positive climate between both sides, it is normal that there will be meetings and discussions between the officials of both countries," the diplomat said, in reference to Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.



The Arab press has stated that Rouhani received an invitation from Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz to assume pilgrimage rituals, which shall kick off on October 13 in Mecca.



Riyadh still hasn't confirmed the news of the invitation.
