NNA - Interior and Municipalities Minister, Marwan Charbel, on Tuesday met with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Paoli, who visited him in the company of Acting French Minister, Helen Muriel, who is tasked to follow up on the affairs of French nationals living abroad.
Muriel reiterated her country's full support for Lebanon, especially in handling the towering number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
Talks also focused on various issues pertaining to the Syrian refugees' stay in Lebanon, as well as the importance of supporting municipalities to help handle the pressure caused by this crisis.
On a different note, Charbel met with the Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, Hester Somsen, who came on a protocol visit aimed to discuss means for boosting bilateral relations.
The pair also tackled the issue of displaced Syrians and the impact of this dossier on the Lebanese security, social and economic situations.
The diplomat stressed the need for assistance by brother states to Lebanon in order to lessen this growing humane burden.
