NNA - Future bloc MP, Ahmad Fatfat, on Monday said that the possibility of having Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam refrain from his cabinet formation task was farfetched, advising the latter to remain perseverant and tolerant.
The lawmaker's words came in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station this morning.
"The country cannot bear the burden of a new crisis. The Lebanese President and Prime Minister should form a cabinet that's up to this big responsibility," he said, leaving for MPs and political powers the right to vote in favor or against said cabinet.
Moreover, Fatfat launched a fresh tirade against Hezbollah, seeing in its deputy Secretary General Naiim Kassem's stances an outright return to the usage of pressure, under the threat of arms.
"We have suggested many solutions to the prevailing crisis, but Hezbollah is more than clear -- either it imposes the cabinet it sees fit, or no cabinet will see light period."
Touching on Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's most recent meeting with Speaker of the House Nabih Berri, Fatfat said that both men saw eye to eye over the importance of pursuing communications en route to the aspired solution.
But Fatfat made clear that the meeting failed to end on a political agreement between both sides.
