NNA - Outgoing Foreign Minister, Adnan Mansour, took part this Saturday at the meeting of Non-Aligned Countries, inaugurated by the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, in the presence of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the margins of the General Assembly in New York.
He also participated in the meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Mansour also met his Syrian counterpart Walid Moallem and permanent ambassador of Syria to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari.
The discussions focused on the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
For his part, Moallem said Damascus respects the work of international observers "to prohibit the use of chemical weapons and launch a dialogue without conditions previously imposed."
The Syrian crisis and bilateral relations were topics of focus between Mansour and his respective counterparts in Algeria, Romania and Nigeria.
