Rahi arrives in Saudi Arabia

NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi and his accompanying delegation on Monday evening arrived at King Salman's airbase aboard a private plane, commencing an official visit to KSA.


Greeting the Patriarch upon arrival had been Saudi Minister of State for Gulf Affairs, Thamer al-Sabhan, Lebanon's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdel Sattar Issa, and Saudi and Lebanese dignitaries.


Patriarch Rahi is scheduled to meet this evening with the Lebanese expatriate community at the Lebanese Embassy's headquarters in Riyadh. Ambassador Issa will hold a dinner banquet in his honor.


The head of the Maronite Church will commence his official meetings tomorrow by having audience with his meetings tomorrow [Tuesday] with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and then with Crown Prince Mohammad Ben Salman.


Patriarch Rahi will also meet Prime Minister Saad Hariri.


Rahi will leave Riyadh Tuesday night heading to Rome where he will partake in a number of ecclesiastical meetings.
