NNA - Prime Minister Saad Hariri submitted his resignation on Saturday from Saudi Arabia, disclosing that the reason behind his decision is Iran's interference in the Arab World.
"I announce my resignation from the Lebanese government as a Prime Minister, with the certainty that the will of the Lebanese will be stronger, and they would overcome guardianship both internally and externally," PM Hariri said in his resignation letter.
"Iran sows strife and destruction wherever present, which is reflected by its interferences in Arab countries' affairs, driven by its deep hatred towards the Arab Nation," added Hariri, stating that Iran is seeking to kidnap Lebanon from its Arab surroundings.
Hariri indicated that Hezbollah was able to impose a "fait accompli" through the force of its weapons.
"I have promised you to seek the unity of the Lebanese, to end the political divisions and to consolidate the principle of disassociation, for the sake of which I have faced harm," Hariri went on to say, addressing the Lebanese.
He referred to a state of frustration, fragmentation and divisions prevailing in the country, with the formation of useless enmities, stating that "We are living in a climate similar to the atmosphere witnessed before the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri."
