NNA - Future Parliamentary Bloc Member, Ahmad Fatfat, considered Saturday that any talk about a special security force for Beirut's Southern Suburb region is a dangerous option.
"Recent circulated news of a special force comprised of Army, Internal Security and General Security men to be deployed in Beirut's Southern Suburbs is the most dangerous," said Fatfat, speaking to "Future" TV Channel. He considered that such a step would cause divisions within the Army and Security Forces.
Fatfat hoped that President Michel Sleiman and Caretaking PM Najib Mikati would remain alert to the danger of having special security forces pertaining to a certain political party or side, with the latter having veto power over said forces' participation.
"Hezbollah ought to allow any Lebanese security force into the Southern Suburb region, instead of forming a special force to that effect," Fatfat stressed.
