NNA - Minister of State for Combating corruption, Nicolas Tueni, said on Thursday that there was no enthusiasm at the Council of Ministers to hold the impending by-elections; however, the minister affirmed that the lengthily awaited elections would be held on time.

Interviewed by the "Voice of Lebanon" radio, Tueni also described his meeting with the head of the IMF mission as positive, adding that he had raised questions about squandering management and fighting corruption.

The Minister concluded by saying that the IMF was following up on the financial issues in Lebanon, and relayed the IMF's positive opinion about Lebanon's management of its financial crisis.
