NNA - Caretaker Culture Minister, Gaby Layoun, on Thursday stepped up calls for an all-inclusive cabinet that's capable of running the nation's affairs amid the simmering political and security situation the region endures.
Speaking to the Voice of Lebanon radio station, the MP underscored the importance of having all parties be represented at cabinet in accordance with the size of their Parliamentary bloc.
The MP went on to send a stark warning to those wagering on foreign politics. He also cautioned from submerging the country in a state of void.
Responding to a question why the cabinet doesn't convene to thrash out economic and daily living issues, the Minister said the Lebanese President and Prime Minister cannot perform the role of the cabinet single-handedly, calling for an urgent cabinet meeting to discuss pending issues.
With regard to Prime Minister-designate Tamam Salam's opting for the rotation of portfolios, Layoun refused attempts to "rob ministerial successes by the Free Patriotic Movement Ministers, asserting his Party's attachment to the Ministry of Water and Energy.
