NNA - Future lawmakers continued to rebuff the self-imposed security measures Hezbollah has been tightening in its stronghold, the Southern Suburb of Beirut, deeming such steps as an attempt to confiscate the state's sovereignty and prestige, especially after emerging news on the party's freshly-installed communication grids in the Zahle and Central Bekaa.
"What was revealed was that the grids in Zahle proved that the party of weapons and its gunmen were confiscating the state's sovereignty, apparatuses, and services," lawmakers said in a statement issued after their weekly meeting in Bayt-al-Wasat.
"It has become constant that the exacerbating security situation of Hezbollah will certainly worsen daily events in all regions where the party's militias are deployed," they added.
They did not fail to reiterate the necessity that Hezbollah withdraw its fighters from Syria and that its weapons be discussed on the national dialogue table.
Accordingly, they renewed holding onto dialogue among the different political camps as the best means to communicate and hence reach a solution to the current quandaries.
They also renewed calls upon the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate to speed up the formation of the long-awaited government.
