NNA - Head of Future parliamentary bloc, Fouad Siniora, said Sunday that some people in Lebanon and abroad wanted to deliberately undermine the achievements of the Lebanese to the world, in terms of openness, moderation and neutrality.
Siniora, who spoke at a conference on the life of Emile Boustani in Beit Mery, stressed that Lebanon was not based on partisan or narrow tribal ideas in perpetual conflict.
"Lebanon is a message, as Pope John Paul II said, a message of coexistence and acceptance of others. A message of harmony, moderation and openness, competition in positive achievements and creativity," he said.
Siniora made a comparison between Emile Boustani and Rafik Hariri, as both men have advocated the values that must be preserved by all Lebanese.
"Experience has shown that to build the future of Lebanon one must follow the path of civil democracy...the protection of freedoms and human rights," he concluded.
