NNA - Let us marshal a considerable rhetoric of peace and affection, Maronite patriarch Bshara Rahi stated in his message to Kiserwan villagers during today's tour of the Ftouh.


Let us speak a language of peace and affection while continuing to hold steadfastly onto the fatherland, he reiterated in his call for peace in Lebanon, Syria and the Middle East. The country we should hold onto must be that of a supreme value and would be tantamount to a great jewel craving to be upheld and preserved at all cost, he added. The language of compassion that we seek is based on absolute truth unlike that we listen to and watch on TV every night, Rahi went on.


The people want peace, unity and peaceful coexistence since this is dictated by our culture; enough strife, enough conflict and problems here in Lebanon. Let's unite in the interest of all the Lebanese by staying absolutely neutral vis-a-vis what's happening all around us, the patriarch announced daily prayers and fasting from 8:00 am till 12:00 midnight at the Basilica of Hareesa in a bid to stop the raging domestic/regional conflict.
