NNA - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, Ghassan Hasbani, held a press conference on Thursday at his office in Bir Hassan to launch the First Beirut International Health Industry Forum, organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Economy and Business Group.

The Forum will take place on July 10, 2017 and it will be attended by ranking figures in the health sector from several countries around the world.

"This is the first time we launch the Beirut International Health Industry Forum, which will bring together a wide range of experts from the health industry in Lebanon, several Arab countries and other countries of the world, to share ideas for the development of this sector," Hasbani said.

"Most importantly, this conference will be a platform to highlight the Lebanese capabilities in this sector and to direct investment towards it, with the aim to developing the health sector and providing advanced health services for the Lebanese citizen and the Arab and foreign patients, and to confirm Lebanon's leading role in the health industry in the Arab region, especially that recent studies have confirmed that Lebanon ranked first in terms of health services in the Arab world," the minister said.

The Minister added that this Forum will lead "to strengthening the location of Lebanon as a destination for medical tourism, on the one hand, and as an investment destination for those interested in health industries, on the other."
