Chinese Ambassador hails ties with Arab world during economic meeting in support for Silk Road

NNA - Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Kejian, on Friday heaped praise on the "deep" and "historic" relations between China and the Arab world.

Speaking during the Arab-Chinese economic meeting in support for the Silk Road initiative at Adnan Kassar Building, Kejian explained that there were five factors to bolster cooperation between China and the Arab world, including Lebanon.

He said that the first factor was political, while the second was economic, the third financial, and the fourth was related to infrastructure. As to the fifth factor, Kejian explained that was related to culture in China as well as in the Arab world.

For his part, chairman of The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Jiang Zengwei, highlighted the necessity to provide new dynamics for the Arab-Chinese cooperation.

"The One Belt One Road initiative is the right track towards strategic Arab-Chinese economic and commercial ties," he said.

"There are a lot of cooperation opportunities between the Arab and Chinese parties in fields like industry, finance, tourism, infrastructure, energy, and technology," he added.

It is to note that two memorandums of understanding and cooperation on the formation of the Silk Road Business Council were signed during the meeting.
