Mikati receives condolences from Erdogan, Ouglo, Fabius


NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, received Sunday a call from Turkish PM, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expressing sincere condolences over the innocent civilians who fell during the Tripoli and Ruweis explosions.


Erdogan expressed his county's solidarity with Lebanon during the current difficult times.


Talks also touched on the Turkish kidnapped pilots' issue, whereby Mikati assured his Turkish Counterpart of the Lebanese government's exerted efforts in unveiling their fate and ensuring their release. Mikati hoped that the Turkish government would also exert more effort in ensuring the release of the Lebanese who were kidnapped in Ezzaz several months ago.



Mikati also received similar phone calls from Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, and French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, who expressed deep condolences for the death of innocent civilians.


Fabius stressed his country's support to Lebanon, especially at the current trying times. He also stressed on the strong ties linking both France and Lebanon together.


Meanwhile, Mikati followed-up Sunday on Tripoli's explosion, whereby he held a series of meetings with political and security officials, who briefed him on the latest information available with regards to underway investigations.


Mikati also conferred with Higher Refuge Committee Secretary General, Brigadier Ibrahim Bashir, over the survey of damages conducted in the wake of both blasts. Mikati gave instructions to speed-up the process of providing lodging for citizens whose homes have incurred damages as a result of the explosions.
