NNA - A number of civil society independent activists, alongside the Relief and Development Humanitarian Syrian foundation (Najda Now international), on Wednesday evening gathered at Martyrs Square amid strict security measures to express their unanimous condemnation of Al-Ghota massacre which shook the Syrian nation this morning.
MPs Akram Chouhayeb and Ahmad Fatfat, as well as a number of civil society activists also took place in this event.
"Our act comes to deplore the massacre that took place in al-Ghota today. It's also a plea to protect the remaining children of Syria," said Sarah Al-Sheikh, an independent civil activist.
Demonstrators later went on a silent march towards ESCWA, brandishing banners in condemnation of the carnage, and lighting candles to express a state of mourning.
