NNA - Former Prime Minister, Fouad Siniora, on Wednesday fervently condemned the abominable carnage which was wrought on the Ghota region near Damascus this morning.
"What we witnessed and heard about the horrific results of the chemical massacre that targeted al-Ghota region, east Damascus, is unprecedented, but rarely witnessed in the history of mankind," said Siniora in a statement.
He slammed what he described as one of the most monstrous massacres against "the peaceful people of Syria whose only guilt is uprising for freedom and dignity," the Future Parliamentary bloc leader said.
He blamed "international silence disregarding crimes perpetrated at the hand of the Syrian regime" as the thing that allowed such high degree of criminality and nonchalance by the Syrian regime.
Siniora also called for a firm Lebanese stance regarding this "terrorist act".
"An urgent Arab and international movement is also required to halt similar massacres and to hold the criminal regime accountable," he added.
