NNA - Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, sternly condemned Wednesday the "awful massacre that claimed the lives of hundreds of women and children in Damascus countryside at dawn, and that many reporters said it was due to chemical weapons use."
"This massacre does not come at all within the frame of the military operations taking place between belligerent parties in Syria, because the victims fell in areas where clashes did not require such a shelling," he said in a statement.
He upped calls upon the Arab League to urgently meet to skim through the massacre and take the necessary decisions.
He also urged the Security Council to dispatch the international inspectors, already present in Syria, to the massacre site, as well as to convene urgently to adopt adequate relevant resolutions.
