NNA - The youth delegation, hailing from all over the world to partake in the World Council for Youth Congress organized by the Lebanese World Cultural Union at Notre Dame du Mont-Fatka, visited Saturday and Sunday a number of touristic sites in Lebanon to explore their mother country's remarkable beauty; especially that most delegation members are of Lebanese origin.


In this framework, the delegation visited respectively Harissa Notre Dame, Jeita Grotto, Downtown Beirut, Baalbeck, Zahle and Chateau Ksara, and will be visiting later other archaeological, touristic sites across Lebanon.

President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Michel Doweihi, welcomed the delegation in Lebanon, underlining the importance of maintaining contact between the youth in the Diaspora and their mother country.



Speaking to NNA, Doweihi said that the main purpose of the delegation?s visit to Lebanon is to make the youth return to their roots and get to know their country through exploring its beauty and major attractive characteristics.



President of World Lebanese Cultural Union Youth, Dimas Chantiri, told NNA, "We come here to show that the Lebanese youth, in the expatriate world, and the Lebanese youth, in Lebanon, are all one family."



It is to note that the delegation?s visit lasts from August 16 till 26, 2013, with the World Youth Council?s Congress opening at Notre Dame du Mont on August 19 till 20, under the patronage of Caretaker Environment Minister, Nazem el-Khoury .



Partaking members are visiting Lebanon for the first time; namely from the United States of America, Australia, Britain, France, Argentine, Uruguay, Brazil, Chili, Colombia, Canada, Mexico, and Colombia.



It is also worth mentioning that Miss Emigrants for 2013, Rita Hkayyem, is amongst delegation members.
