NNA - PM-Designate Tamam Salam condemned Sunday the ambush against Ersal Municipality Head, Ali al-Hujeiri's convoy on Sunday, calling for strict measures against the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.


"Once again, such an incident reveals the fragile situation in the Beqaa region, and the need to exert all possible efforts by all political and civil sides for the sake of confronting all attempts to cause strife and shake the country's stability," said Salam.


Salam was briefed on details of the the attack incident by Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Marwan Charbel, on Sunday. Charbel also informed him of the security measures adopted in tracking the perpetrators down.
