Aoun offers condolences to Egyptian President, Coptic Pope over victims of Coptic Church bombing

NNA - President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, contacted Sunday afternoon Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, expressing deep condolences for the innocent fallen victims in wake of the recent blast that targeted the Coptic Church in al-Abbasiyah in Cairo.


"This horrible crime, which has shocked the human conscience, proves that terrorism has no moral or religious deterrent, and is the ultimate of crime," said Aoun, expressing Lebanon's solidarity with the Egyptian brethrens during this difficult time.


President Aoun also relayed his sincere condolences to the Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of Saint Mark Tawadros II, during a call with Head of the Coptic Sect in Lebanon, Father Royce of Jerusalem, reiterating solidarity with the people of the Coptic Church in their ordeal.
