NNA - UNIFIL spokesperson Antoinette Midday said in a statement Friday that no official report was made on the possibility of the withdrawal of the Turkish contingent working within the international peacekeeping forces.
"We currently have troops from 37 countries, and within the totality of the UNIFIL there are routine changes in the composition of forces from different contributing countries, and the Department of peacekeeping Operations at the United Nations is informed of these formations in consultation with troop-contributing countries."
Through these routine increases and reductions of troop numbers what remains a constant is the success of the UNIFIL in carrying out its duties effectively.
