Kheireddine sounds alarm on Army Command vacuum

NNA - Caretaker State Minister, Marwan Kheireddine warned on Wednesday that the situation in Lebanon has become very critical, rebuffing any scenario that might render the Army Command in a state of vacuum.

"Vacuum is in no way acceptable at the security institutions, and any sort of void shall prohibit the Army from aptly accomplishing its duties," Kheireddine said at an inauguration ceremony of Hasbaya village main entrance and water well at Al-Khazen Souks - two projects which had been financed by Al-Mawared Bank.

The Caretaker Minister feared that this would pave the way for "self-security measures in different areas, as had been the case in the past."

"It's a shame to endure the bitter experiences we once had," he said.

Moreover, Kheireddine implored Prime Minister-designate, Tammam Salam to seek a way out of the "conditions and counter-conditions" game, on the lead to a new cabinet.

He asserted that Lebanon could only be ruled via consensus, repulsing the way by which impossible conditions were being imposed on Salam.
