Sleiman's activities on Wednesday

NNA - President of the Republic Michel Sleiman discussed today at Baabda Palace with Former French Prime Minister Alain Juppe the bilateral relations over all levels and in all fields throughout history between Lebanon and French.



Talks also tackled issues development in the region and the importance to promote democracy which secures freedom and justice to citizens and people.



Sleiman also met with American Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy, Amos Hochstein, on top of a delegation. Discussions reportedly featured high on the relations between Lebanon and the United States.



In his turn Hochstein relayed to Sleiman his country's support and readiness to offer aid, praising the accomplishments which have been lately made regarding the oil and gas issue.



Moreover, Sleiman met a delegation from the Maronite Institute for Diaspora headed by Former Minister Michel Eddé who briefed the President on the activities of the Institution on the Lebanese Diaspora level, in general, and the Maronite one in specific.

"In order to connect emigrants and strengthen their communication with their home country."



In his turn, Sleiman welcomed the delegation stressing on the importance of the Lebanese emigrants' role all over the world and the key posts which they have had on both political and economical levels.



President of the Republic was briefed from his representative to the Francophone Organization, Fadia Kiwan, on the ongoing preparations to hold the next Francophone conference.



Kiwan also relayed to Sleiman a message from the Organization's General Secretary Abdo Diuf in which the latter praised the President's role in preserving stability in Lebanon.
