NNA - Member of the Faithfulness to the Resistance Bloc, Deputy Ali Fayyad, considered that certain sides are seeking to prolong the "Assirian condition" without al-Assir himself, who was exploited to create sectarian strife and spread a state of security and political imbalance, he noted.


"Al-Assir was used to trigger sectarian and regional intimidation, and there are some who seek to prolong such a state even after his absence," said Fayyad, speaking in a memorial ceremony held in the town of Deir Kifa in the South on Sunday.


"Such a matter can never serve stability in the country nor the state of coexistence between the Lebanese nor their aspirations at the level of tranquility and peace," added Fayyad. He considered that provocative stands ought to be diminished at the current phase.


"All parties have to facilitate the formation of a balanced national, political government with the partnership of all political sides," Fayyad noted. He added that the Lebanese have to rally around their national army, supporting its role in protecting the nation and its internal security.
