NNA - Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, welcomed at the Grand Serail on Thursday Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Arthur Nazarian, accompanied by a French delegation, with whom he discussed water diplomacy.

The delegation came on a protocol visit, and included French Senator Olivier Cadic, and lawyer Patricia Smida.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Cadic said that Lebanon bore the responsibility of developing "water diplomacy." "This is something that started here in Lebanon to reach out to the entire Mediterranean."

"We also discussed affairs relevant to security as well as the necessity to support Lebanon to face the migration that took place following the events in Syria," he indicated.

"I expressed my appreciation for the message that Prime Minister Salam asked me to carry; real help cannot be conditioned, and this is a strong message that I shall convey to France," he added.

"We do need to find definite comprehensive help (...) this is a very clear and straightforward message," he concluded.

Salam later met with Development and Liberation bloc member Qassem Hashem.
