NNA - Outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced that he would not sign the decree to open an extraordinary session, saying that they don't want any additional problem.
Mikati said that his meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri today was to discuss general issues and it was positive, pointing out that the parliament's work during an outgoing cabinet period is limited to necessities.
He added were the Constitutional Council committed well to its duties, it would have issued the appropriate decisions, confirming "I commit to the Constitutional Consultation that I had."
He said that the legislation occurred during an outgoing cabinet period in 2005 and 2013, but it talked only about urgent and absolute need items, accordingly the legislation should be limited to urgent matters.
Mikati said that this position is not related to him in person, but to the post of the cabinet Presidency and the Executive Authority, pointing out that they depend on the wisdom and patriotism of Speaker Berri in such critical circumstances to reach solutions.
"Today there is a full legislative authority and incomplete Executive Authority due to the resignation and the balance between the two is currently not present," he said.
