NNA - Deputy Hani Qobeissi confirmed that what happened at the constitutional council's meeting reflects pressure on the said council to accept the challenge submitted against extending the parliament's term.
"That violates all political and legal norms," the Deputy said.
He told the Voice of Lebanon - Dignity and Freedom - radio that "local and foreign pressures on the council to decide to accept the challenge are suspicious."
Qobeissi noted that Speaker Berri worked hard on nipping strife in the bud and reducing the tension between all parties.
"We should, by all means, cut the way before civil war, by immunizing Lebanon," he warned.
